Crafted from a masterful blend of Samidori, Okumidori, and Yabukita cultivars, this matcha brings together the best of Uji’s renowned tea heritage. Shade-grown and stone-milled from Ichibancha leaves, it offers a perfectly rounded flavor with an elegant depth- rich without being overpowering, and with a fresh, slightly sweet finish that keeps you coming back for more.

With its vibrant green hue and silky texture, Koharu no Shiro is beautifully versatile- equally suited to usucha (thin tea) or koicha (thick tea). Whether part of a quiet morning ritual or shared in a more formal tea setting, this matcha brings grace and balance to any moment.

preparation

For 薄茶 usucha (thin tea) sift 2g of matcha into a chawan (tea bowl.)

Add 60ml of water at around 80°C.

Whisk in a zigzag motion until fully combined and for the desired amount of foam.

For koicha (thick tea) sift 4g of koicha grade matcha into a chawan.

Add 30ml of water at around 80°C.

Use the chasen to gently knead the matcha into the water, forming a matcha tea paste.

For a latte sift 4g of matcha or hojicha into a tea bowl.

Add 60-80ml of water at around 80°C.

Whisk in a zigzag motion until fully combined and for the desired amount of foam

Pour the matcha over 180ml of hot or cold milk and add 10ml of sweetener.

storage

Store in a cool, dry, dark place, such as a refrigerator. Avoid exposure to moisture or sunlight.

For best quality, consume within 1 month of opening.

Use by date- see bottom of tin.

This is a really fantastic everyday luxury matcha that is about to become apart of my day off ritual. I’ve been searching for a good quality matcha that is so easy to love. This blend has a creamy texture and a rich umami presence. The color is a vibrant green, the most beautiful green there ever was, and the finish is smooth. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a premium matcha.
