Sakura Rikyū Chawan

A small, Rikyū-style chawan inspired by Sen no Rikyū, handcrafted in Gifu, the home of Minoware.

Finished with a tactile but smooth glaze and a gently irregular form, this chawan is hand painted with soft pink sakura blossoms. No two are exactly the same. Subtle variations in brushwork, tone, and shape reflect the hand of the maker and the nature of the kiln.

Its smaller, balanced form offers a comfortable grip and a more intimate matcha experience, encouraging a slower, more mindful ritual.

A Touch of Sakura
The cherry blossom motif speaks to transience and renewal. A subtle reminder to pause and appreciate the present moment. Paired with vibrant green matcha, it creates a soft, seasonal contrast that feels both calming and considered.
